Every other day of the week is fine...

So, the much anticipated (well, I doubt it) post has finally arrived...

In all the time that I haven't updated this thing, the best summation of an update I can give you is: I got married, moved to Scottsdale, and am out of a job. Oh, and I got new furniture today.

That, however, would be the uber-pessimist coming out of me. Except for the furniture, of course, because those couches are just dead sexy.

But, now that I have exumed my carcass out of the wretches of wedding planning, transplanting and getting laid-off from my job, I can gladly tell you that not only did I get married, but I got married to the Audrey Hepburn incarnate. She's stylish, she's smart, she's graceful, and she's definitely a looker. I love her so much and am glad that we're starting a new life together.

Our wedding in Vegas was great. And no, we didn't get married in the Chapel O'Love...we got married in the LDS temple. It's been kind of cumbersome to explain that, but come on, what do you normally think of when you hear of a wedding in Vegas? I see Elvis in a clergy robe with Wayne Newton and a Tom Jones impersonator as witnesses. I wish I did see Wayne Newton though. I would have told him to come back to Phoenix.

We did miss our wedding dinner, however. We decided to check into our room at the MGM Grand before heading back to Overton (about an hour outside of Vegas), and well, that was a big mistake. We told everyone we were tired and needed a nap.

Nobody bought it.

Holli and I honeymooned on Cape Cod, and it was great. We stayed at the Crown Pointe Historic Inn in Provincetown, and it was just awesome. Now, bear in mind that Holli and I are two unassuming Mormon kids from podunk towns in Nevada and Arizona, respectively, and that maybe we were both unaware of the special aura about Provincetown. We had no idea that it was considered to be the gay and lesbian capital of the world!! But, thet wasn't even a factor. Were were there during off-peak season and enjoyed all aspects of it. Except maybe for some of the "leather clad bear men" that were on some of the posters in the liquor store (we were looking for tomato juice). In any case, we loved the food, the people, the snow on the beach, the pictures of the beautiful old Portuguese women on the side of a building in the marina, and especially our alone time.

I would have to say at this point, that the only thing that wasn't enjoyable was flying U.S. Airways. If you can avoid it, DON'T EVER FLY THAT AIRLINE. Now, I've flown a lot in my short life for conferences, lobbying trips, symposia, and leisure, and I must say that U.S. Airways, by far, has the most obnoxious people working for them. The service was crappy, and because of them, Holl and I had to fly standby all the way to Boston, and then couldn't even connect to P-town, thus necessitating a night at the Boston Logan Hilton (which was really nice, so I shouldn't complain about that). However, you suck, U.S. Airways, and you'll never get my business again.

So, here I am, living with Holl in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona. We like it a lot. We're just south of downtown, off a golf course, with a very pretty view of Camelback Mountain -- in fact, we get to watch the sunset on our porch swing every now and then, and it's very nice.

That's about where life is with me right now. I may be out of a job right now, but that's not stopping me from launching a creative career. But the news on that will just have to wait.

Until next time...Viva la unemployment insurance! Ciao!

America West and US Airways are merging, did you hear? So that's one less airline to be able to use. :(
Anyway, your entry makes me laugh. My husband, the comedian
