Well, this past weekend entailed another nice little jaunt up to Nevada to visit my wife's family. It was a lot of fun - it was the first time all the kids had been together for a while, and it gave us an opportunity to meet our future brother-in-law, James. I have to admit that he's a pretty nice guy, and seems to have his head on straight - so if I could pass the Keel family test (it was much more than a round of golf), then I'm sure James can.
We tried to take a family picture, but shadows, sun, and I guess attitude got the best of us. We didn't really get a good one. And since we're all spending the Thanksgiving holiday at Disneyland, we decided to do our own Thanksgiving a little early, which was a lot of fun.
We played dodgeball and basketball at the HS gym afterward, and had a blast...I'll never grow up when it comes to that stuff. Plus, a perk of having a HS coach as a father-in-law is all of the free t-shirts, shorts, and athletic equipment you get as "commemorative" items from family get togethers.
I also yanked three striped bass out of Lake Mead earlier that weekend, and it seems that my dear wife has a soft spot when it comes to fishing. She felt bad to kill the fish so slowly...the irony of it all being the fact that she caught the biggest one.
I'm interested to see how the real Thanksgiving plays out -- I've never spent a major holiday at a theme park, but I have missed Space Mountain (provided I don't get smacked by a Nike shoe again), and I love Pirates of the Carribean. It should be fun...but we'll see how much we all like each other after it's all over!

Your description of our weekend makes me want to do it all over again...that was fun.
Oh, my friend, you're going to hate Disneyland while you're there. We spent Thanksgiving there with my husband's family a couple of years ago and it was a nightmare. Hopefully your experience will be better!
