So, I really think Phoenix PD does a poor job in monitoring this street. There are so many people that jaywalk and cross the road in ridiculous places. Yesterday, a kid almost got hit because he was walking in the middle lane. This morning, a crazy guy (forget PC, the guy was certifiably disturbed in some mental form or other) was walking against traffic between 32nd and 24th Streets.
I promptly braved the construction and turned on 24th and finished my commute on Washington. I like driving down Washington…more so when there’s no construction.
I was happy to have lunch yesterday with my friend Ed Ableser (Senate site, campaign site) who is a State Senator representing District 17 (South Scottsdale, Tempe). We actually ran into Senators Rebecca Rios and Ken Cheuvront at the same place we ate. Might as well have caucused there, eh? What was even more of a treat, was after lunch when he introduced me (up in the gallery) on the Senate floor. I know it’s kind of cheesy, but I thoroughly enjoyed having the 30 state senators applaud me.
A lobbyist I know was also sitting in the gallery, giving me the “what the heck are you doing here?” type of look. Spending time with a friend, jackass, not trying to sell snake oil…

That is great to hear you had lunch with the good Senator of our district 17. I applaud you! Not too many people can tell the stories of experiences you share.
People are flat out, jack ass crazy! To hell with PC. I see a lot of people jaywalking 15 FEET OUTSIDE THE CROSSWALK!!! I guess they were too damn lazy to move their lazy duffs within the confines of the white stripes.
To comment to your earlier comment of the snide look you received in the lobby, I don't think that they were in the market just yet for snake oil. Perhaps you should have offered them a can of personality and respect with the secret ingredient of common decency. Oh, hell, who am I kidding? Go with the snake oil. The season is warming right up.
Well, since I previously worked with and around lobbyists for the past few years, I kind of have a different outlook on them. Some are good and honest...some, well, aren't even close.
