Dreams

OK, I just did a little Dance Dance Revolution with Holli (ergo, I really stink) so I'm going to make this one quick.

Lately, I've been having the most bizarre dreams, and I've got to recount them before I forget about them. Be forewarned, they're really weird.

I'll start with this one a few weeks back...

My dad had just been elected Chairman of the White Mountain Apache Tribe (I know, I know...weird. My dad is part Apache, but not enough to be elected a chairman - and he'd be from San Carlos, not WMAT). And I was at his inauguration with ASU President Michael Crow and outgoing Sr. VP and Provost Milt Glick. All I remember is turning around and seeing Dr. Glick all dressed in white, and then I realized...he was Gandolf. Long, white hair, beard, robes and all...not to mention Dr. Glick was wearing his trademark hat. He simply asked, "What are you going to do now, John?" And I replied, "I'm going to UNR with you." End of dream.

It was the most bizzare thing.

Then, I dreamed again the next night and it was me, my father-in-law Jeff and brothers-in-law Jake, James and Keith on the golf course. We were all really good, and by really good, I mean we were all wearing our Masters' jackets. Seriously. Except Jeff wasn't wearing a Masters' jacket. He was wearing long, white robes and had long, white hair and a beard, but instead of a staff he had a 9 iron. He was Gandolf too! He simply asked," What are you going to do now, John?" And I replied, "I'm going to sink this put for birdie." End of dream.

The thing I don't get is I'm not even a Lord of the Rings fan. Not at all. Never have been. Fell asleep during all the movies (only because they we're long...I did think they were very well-made), and for the voracious reader I claim to be, I don't even think I finished The Hobbit.

Am I going crazy?

More dreams to come...

This is hilarious, do I dare post my dreams? I would make your dreams seem like nothing:) Keep em coming.

I promise, it's length. I think the movies (at least the parts I saw) were great. Bear in mind I've also fallen asleep during Titanic, Harry Potter, and Chronic-what-cles of Narnia...

it's probably not just your dreams. i bet it's actually the real gandalf and he's using your dreams to summon you to middle earth because you are the chosen one to accomplish some dangerous and harrowing task.

I actually rarely dream at all. I don't know if that's good or bad. Probably some bad omen telling me I'm an idiot and have jack squat to dream of hahaha.

Can I be Gandalf next time?

My dreams have just been so REAL lately. Sometimes I'll think about my dreams all day long because it feels as though they actually happened. It takes a couple of days for the 'memory' to not be so vivid.

I think its a sign that you REALLY need to watch LOTR again, and not to fall asleep during them. Maybe there is some great mystery in your life, and the answers are held in the wisdom of the Rings. Deep, Very Deep Stuff! Hollywood.

All right, its time for an update. Inquiring minds want to know! Besides, the suspense is killing me!

Hey John,

I think Freud would find some appropriately disgusting diagnosis as to what the tru meaning of these dreams are (ie That you're secretly attracted to men with long flowing beards. Or maybe that you were molested by druids as a child) but aren't you glad you aren't friends with Freud? Me too.
