Out of the quarter-century crisis...

Yes, today is the day twenty-six years ago my parents rushed flippantly from Morenci to Safford so that I could make my entry into this world. Seven residence changes, three states, six foreign countries, a faith change, a mission, two degrees, and a happy marriage later, here I am.

A lot more happened during that time, but given that I never have the ample amount of time I wish I had to write, that life description will have to suffice.

Two songs about birthdays played on the radio this morning (which I secretly thought was really cool).

I started this morning off with a very heated meeting and thought that I might not have a very good day, but hey...it's my birthday, no one can really ruin it.

Last night Holli and I went to the Suns/Celtics game. A lot of fun. Not the most amazing performance by my favorite basketball team in all of humanity, but a win is a win. Watching them hand the Clippers their lunch the night before, however, was certainly a treat. If we move, I'm going to be really sad during b-ball season because we won't get to watch many games on TV, which might make Holli a bit happier. I think out of all of the televised games we've only missed one. They're awesome...what can you say?

Tonight I'll get to do a little celebrating, and tomorrow, and the night after that. Holli and I have both noticed the trend that we no longer have birthdays, but rather "birthweeks." I dig it.

I also secretly hoped that my soon-to-arrive nephew would be born today -- then I could have shared a birthday with someone I know, as opposed to Drew Barrymore, Erma Bombeck, and George Washington. Another eccentricity of mine: I like the fact that I was born on Washington's birthday. Holli can definitely lend creedence to that.

Anyway - as it happens, I am at work and should get back to it.

Here's to a good 27th year!
