POTPOURRI, version 2.0

Well, I want to thank those who've either commented on the site or who've responded to me personally about my work dilemma. I'm nowhere near making a decision, but I know it will manifest itself somehow.

:: I RECENTLY LEARNED that I also made the semi-finalist cut for the New York State Public Management Institute. It's very similar to the Presidential Management Fellowship, except that it's exclusively for New York jobs. Holli and I will be headed to San Antonio in January for my PMF Assessment, and we have to pick a date in January or February to fly to Albany or NYC for my NY-PMI Assessment. In short, we could be moving to New York OR Washington, D.C. if either of these pan out!

:: HOLLI AND I had a great time at the concert last night. Andrew Bird opened, and was great! One of Holli's friends introduced me to his music, and I had liked it ever since, so in essence, we got two great performances for our tastes! Andrew Bird was amazing. He's quirky, and a little weird, but that's part of what I loved. And he's truly a musical genius. His music is filled with so many tones and sounds, and most of them come from him. He sang, whistled, played the xylophone, the violin, and the electric guitar. His drummer (dang, was it Kevin??) was also amazing! I always appreciate a good drummer, and this guy just rocked my socks off. I hadn't been altogether too familiar with Nickel Creek's music, but was equally in awe of them last night, as they put on a TWO-HOUR set. All of their songs were so great, and I loved when their bass player came out and clogged to one of their faster tunes during the encore, and especially when they covered Britney Spears' "Toxic" earlier in the show. I typically don't like when bands cover other songs, but I can't help but like them more when they do it even better than the original band! (Like Ryan Adams' cover of Wonderwall!)

:: AND FINALLY...my little Motorola V260 cell phone totally crapped out on me AGAIN, and this time was the last straw. I took it into the Verizon store, and they ended up giving me a new phone (an LG VX6100), but weren't able to retain any of my nearly 200 phone numbers!! ARGH! Very irritating and dissapointing as that's where most of my numbers made their home - and in some cases, the only place I had the numbers recorded.

So, friends and family, if you could, please send me your contact info - home, cell, or work numbers - so I at least have the ability to contact you!!

Until next time...
