hibernation

I'm all for advocating a 36 hour day and three-day weekends...and hibernation in the winter. I know, I know, I live in the Phoenix area and really should have nothing to be whining about. But trust me, it's not the weather, it's just that all I can think about right now is sleep. I've been so tired for the past few days and I simply have no idea why. And I know what my wife is thinking as she reads this. She's thinking, well, then maybe you should get to bed earlier and you wouldn't be so tired. She may be right, but overall, even with just a few hours sleep I can manage to bounce back during the day. As of late, I just can't.

We're starting week three of the first regular session of the 48th Arizona State Legislature, and it's already killing me. Legislators flaking on appointments, forgetting all that we tell them, changing their minds, receiving threats, and toiling in unethical behavior are already a few things I'm seeing so far from a variety of individuals. Quite fun.

I saw the governor this morning coming out of the Senate. She smiled, said "hi", and waved. Really the only peaceful greeting I've received all day.

And, as usual, some legislators are getting knocked down a few spaces on this year's Christmas list. That's just my nature. If I'm part of a team, and we're advocating a specific bill, then it becomes part of me. If it goes on, then I feel great. If it fails, then so have I. My heart strings tend to be tied unneccesarily tight around these issues. Maybe that's why I'm such a fantastic lobbyist (said extremely sarcastic).

NOTICE - I have been giving some strong consideration to restricting this blog to friends and family only, which in the long run would rule out Googling my name and finding my blog. So, either you'll have to write this address down or you'll have to ask me for it. There are several reasons why I want to do this, but in no way is it an attempt to keep it from certain people. Actually, I lied - yes it is, but if you already read, then I most likely have no problem letting you continue to do so...it's really for another reason. It'll be a few weeks before that would take effect...

See you on the dark side of the moon...

Yep, that's exactly what I'm thinking!

I feel the same way--I'm tired of being tired! 8 hours has never been enough for me, and I need to accept that.

Let me know when you decide to go over to the dark side of the Force.

I'm sorry you have to deal with the AZ Leg. They are a screwy bunch aren't they?

well, that's the thing - as much as I bash the Leg. sometimes, I really do enjoy doing what I do all the same. shows how much of a weirdo I am, I guess...
